La Cavalaire-sur-Mer and La Cavalaire Beach

La Cavalaire-sur-Mer has one of the most beautiful beaches I have seen. The day my family took a trip there, the sky was so blue and clear and the colors of the Mediterranean Sea were exceptionally gorgeous. The wind was up a little, but not enough to deter us from staying a long while to enjoy the scenery.

The town is fairly new and construction is going on along the waterfront. I have never seen so many restaurants in my life. There are new stores, hotels and apartments that have recently sprung up. The beach is very large and there is plenty of room to spread out and not be right next to someone else. There is also a very nice walkway all along the beach and through the boat docks on the waterfront. This walk takes you to the many restaurants.

There is an ice cream store with so many different varieties that is was hard to choose from. They even had Nutella flavor!

In the summer the tourist are out and about, but one good tip is to go to the beach around 5pm. I know it sounds late, but the sun doesn’t set until around 9:30pm and the heat is still very intense until around that time, as well. If you arrive at 5pm, most everyone will be leaving and you will have the whole beach to yourself. That is exactly what we did.
